Had a great Christmas experience staying at a hotel in a beautiful and tranquil area. The restaurant served delicious food, especially their steak and ale pie which was divine! The room had a stunning view of the park and the bathroom was well equipped with a separate shower and tub and a heated towel rack. The staff was very helpful and provided great suggestions for activities to do during our stay. Location was also perfect, close enough to attractions but far enough from the city noise.
Breakfast was a letdown. The buffet options for cereal and fruit were very limited and lacked continental breakfast options.

we only slept at the suite, but we enjoyed it. the staff were accommodating and created a friendly vibe.

The staff here were really friendly and helpful, the food was great, and the beds were really comfortable, just what we needed. The location in Merchiston is worth checking out.

This hotel in a nice area of the city exceeded my expectations in several ways. Firstly, the value for money was exceptional. With prices that were very reasonable for the quality and level of service provided, I felt like I got a great deal. Secondly, the attention to detail was impressive. From the basic amenities in the rooms to the small but excellent bathrooms, everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. Lastly, the location of the hotel was fantastic. Situated in a lovely part of the city, right in front of a bus station, it was easy to explore Edinburgh and all its attractions.
I couldn't find anything to fault about this hotel. It was ok.

I had a very good stay at this hotel in a lovely part of the city. The location was convenient, as it was right in front of a bus station, making it easy to get around. The staff were professional and helpful, providing excellent service throughout my stay. The rooms were clean and well-kept, with some even offering excellent views of the neighborhood. I also appreciated the fact that breakfast was included in my rate, which was a nice bonus.
All in all, my stay at this hotel was ok.

The room was clean and tidy. Good welcome, everything was ready on arrival a hearty breakfast. The feel of the hotel was just wright and at a great price
The breakfast took a long sometime to come out. This could impact people in a hurry. This was only a small dislike

Comfortable bedroom, modern bathroom, delicious cooked breakfasts, friendly reception, spacious room with natural light, comfortable bed with crisp linen, quality toiletries, hearty breakfast, large flat-screen TV, lovely period building, free WiFi and ample parking, great location near city center.
Could not be improved in any way.

We found the location ideal. It was in a quiet residential area yet was easy walking distance [approx 1.5 mile] into Edinburgh city centre but a good frequent bus service was also close by. We liked the convenience for parking the car. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Evening restaurant facilities were available but we chose to eat out in Edinburgh on this visit. The breakfasts were very good with the choice of fruit juices, cereal, yoghurt, full cooked breakfast and toast.
The walls were thin and we could hear the occupants in the neighbouring room, talking, tv etc - including snoring in the early hours of the morning but overall it didn't spoil our visit

Very friendly staff, very good food, cleanliness, car parking, nice old building.
Strange smell on entry to room, too many narrow/ tight stairs making it difficult to move luggage up to room. Price for weekends increased dramatically?

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing us with all the information we needed. The breakfast was the best we have tasted in a long time, with a wide selection of delicious options. The hotel also had free parking, which was a great bonus. The location was perfect as it was close to where our relatives live and it was easy for us to be picked up for a funeral. this hotel provided a clean and comfortable stay with excellent facilities and a convenient location.
Couldn't find any faults at all.

The staff could do with a more friendly attitude, hotel very smart with scottish overtones well stocked bar and comfortable lounge and dining area breakfast was very good something for everyone. We eat out so can not comment on the food menu.. Our room was like a suite with super king size bed,2 sofas large wardrobe and dressing table big screen t/v sliding doors going out to a patio, this was a 5 star room for a 2 star price we where most impressed with our overall stay.
The staff seemed to lack friendly approach with no customer relations which made me think that is why the bar was so quite during our stay.

Great stay!
I recently visited a hotel for a city break and had a lovely time. One of the best aspects was the spacious and recently refurbished room with a comfortable bed and a super large flat screen TV. The friendly staff made us feel welcome and provided great service throughout our stay. The hotel is also conveniently located near reliable public transportation and city attractions, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I had a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
While the hotel had many positive aspects, there were a few things that could be improved. For example, the wifi can be spotty at times which made it difficult to stay connected while in the room.
